Manila II Call for Entries

Calling all artists and photographers! Slideluck is back for its second show after a fantastic debut last January.

What is Slideluck? Slideluck is a New York City-based non-profit arts organization that provides an opportunity for artists and arts-appreciators to gather around food, friends, and art for an unforgettable night. The evening begins with a potluck dinner lovingly provided by event attendees, after which we’ll dim the lights, hush the crowd, and begin a dynamic slideshow of visual art and photography. Slideluck events have been held around the world, including Istanbul, Bogota, and London, and we’re excited to be holding our second show in Manila!

We are seeking inspiring and cohesive bodies of work from photographers and artists of all walks of life! Our events offer a wide range of emerging and established photographers and visual artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a local audience, but also globally through the Slideluck website.

The slideshow will consist of over 20 artists, with each artist featuring up to five minutes of original work. In most cases, this is a photo essay of between 20 – 30 images. Every slideshow is set to open-sourced music or an audio recording (ambient sounds, live performance, spoken word etc.) that the artist has selected. For copyright purposes, all audio included in submissions must be open-sourced and can also be accessed through resources such as the Free Music Archive or Creative Commons. Past Slideluck contributors include: Chuck Close, Shepard Fairey, Elliott Erwitt, Inez and Vinoodh, JR, Spencer Tunick, Edward Burtynsky, Alex Prager, Gregory Crewdson, Lauren Greenfield, Nadav Kander and many others.

Submit your work for the chance to be shown at our October 24 show! Submissions should include:

– between 15-40 images, although we recommend 20-30

– images that are at least 1024×768 pixels in height

– open-sourced music or an audio recording selected or created by the artist. You can search for open-sourced music through resources such as Free Music Archive or Creative Commons or record your own ambient sounds, live performance or spoken word

–Submissions may be sent through this form on Submittable
