A huge gala was held at Theater 80 by St. Marks to benefit the victims of NYC building explosion.

The gala benefit event featured performers and celebrities from the world of music, literature and drama.

All proceeds from the theater event went for the relief of the victims. The event was being spearheaded by author, Alan Kaufman, and longtime East Village resident and visual artist, Jim Storm.

Also working closely with Kaufman and Storm are model Jennifer Pugh and Roderick Romero of the band Sky Cries Mary.

Slideluck presented slideshows of the East Village’s celebrated history by renowned photographers Clayton Patterson, Spencer Tunick, Ken Schles and Q Sakamaki.

The theater space and other costs have been donated by Lorcan Otway, whose theater has become a hub of community culture and activism.
