SLIDELUCK Boston made its debut on Saturday night at the beautiful (and appropriately thematic) Microsoft NERD Center in Cambridge to celebrate the intersection of art and technology, for a show curated by Stephanie Dvareckas of Boston Cyberarts. This show was directed by Anna Raginskaya and co-directed by Daniella Johnson.
Visitors arrived to the NERD Center and enjoyed popping open a can of Brooklyn Brewery Summer Ale – long-awaited after our very snowy winter here in Boston, which Joe DiFazio reminded us all of in his photo series, No Way Home.
DJ Jeff Zeller provided beats. Our audience was enthralled by video works, such as Michael Lewy’s whimsical and adventurous Office Chair and Clint Baclawski’s Light Bulbs. Highlights from our potluck included Psychedelic Psourdough by artist Chris Fitch whose video Spring we also loved, and Cinnamon Roll Waffles made on-site by Alexander Hovnanian.
For the very first SLIDELUCK Boston, we were proud to feature the work of:
Michael Zachary * Elaine Bay * Raul Gonzalez * Joe DiFazio * Matthew Swarts
Amanda King * Rene Dongo * Coorain Devin * Clint Baclawski * Dennis Miller
Chris Fitch * Ian MacLellan and Jennifer Berglund * Michael Lewy
Corey Corcoran * Lina Giraldo * Dana Mueller * Jeffu Warmouth
Andrew Neumann * Gianna Stewart
After the show, a lively crowd headed to Abigail’s on 3rd Street for drinks. A big thank you to our sponsors – Microsoft, Offset, Souverain, Tito’s, Viewbook, Sandbox Studio, the Art Society at Harvard Business School – Island Creek Oyster Bar, Row 34, Loco Southie, Island Surf Shoe Company, Bully Boy Distillery, Za, and Brooklyn Brewery!
