Slideluck artist and former intern Daria Lombroso will open her first solo exhibit on Friday September 20th at The Greenpoint Gallery in Brooklyn. The selected works will draw from her multiple bodies of work, including some never-before-seen pieces.
In her photographs, Daria Lombroso aims to capture the complexity of individual identities through the experience of everyday moments. This may take the form of a portrait, an interior still life, or even a landscape. Her presence as the photographer is deliberate in her work, as her subjects always seem to reflect her own continuous search for identity. For that reason, she is drawn to people and places that are intimately familiar– both far off in Israel and close by in Westchester County. Daria’s work is heavily influenced by her studies in anthropology and her ongoing interest in the most formative periods of our lives.
