On September 29, 2012, SLIDELUCK finally came to Pittsburgh! After several years of dreaming and talking and planning, the slideshow/potluck combo reached the Three Rivers, bringing with it a roomful of excited participants. Elvira Eichleay served as the director of the event. More than 100 guests brought delicious dishes to Clear Story Studio on the Southside – from a perfectly cooked pork loin with bourbon dipping sauce to Smokra (a chipotle brined okra) to a truffle-oil-infused mac and cheese. Guest judges Amanda McFadden and Julia Gongaware (eatPGH) and Adam Milliron (Adam Milliron Photography) had their work cut out for them – choosing favorites on this buffet was not easy. Awards went to Earl Robinson for his blue cornbread (overall best dish) and Heather Visnesky for her coconut cilantro dip (most innovative).
