Lehigh Valley Live – November 2011

The world of photography is hitting the streets of Bethlehem come early November. The InVision Photo Festival is starting Nov. 3 and lasting until Nov. 6. ArtsQuest, The Morning Call, PPL Electric, The Holt Family and the Rider Pool foundations, and Lehigh County are all sponsoring exhibitions, workshops, portfolio reviews and parties at the Banana Factory and SteelStacks campuses in Bethlehem. There will be more than 41 exhibits on display throughout the region; almost all of them open to the public.

The opening festival kick-off party sponsored by Olympus is the Slideluck multimedia show combined with an entertaining party. Slideluck is a non-profit organization dedicated to building and strengthening community through food and art. Every show is localized and will either feature the work of well-known fine art photographers or the images of someone who has never publically displayed their work before. All of the artwork, excluding a few pieces, will be archived on the global non-profit organization, allowing for the global community to view and review their art. Some of the artists featured will include Chris Gilbert, a nature artist, and Krista Steinke, a Philadelphia-based artist working in photography, video and mixed media. More…
